She didn't fully come into her own until middle school, where she learned that she liked being popular. By high school, this had grown to include going to parties every weekend with a group of friends, blowing off school (especially a Hall Monitor-esque group calling themselves "Grace") and trying to escape her problems at home. While her parents were wealthy and she never wanted for anything, Rachel's dad fit the sterotype of a workaholic, and her mom eventually developed an alochol problem. Wanting to ignore what was going on around her, as Rachel found that dropping subtle clues that she knew when her Mom had been drinking, Rachel headed out to a party at a new club with her sort-of-friend Lisa Meyer. It was the last party she'd attend alive. After coming to at home the morning after, Rachel began to notice that red and black butterflies would appear seemingly at random. Her friends, unable to see them, just wrote her off as being weird. Unable to ignore them, Rachel waited until night had fallen and headed to Central Park, where she met up with three other girls who had been at the same party. A woman, introducing herself as Lula, explained that the four girls had died last night, but were rescued before things could escelate. Offering no other explination, Lula threw them into combat with something she called an Animus- a human with white eyes and animalistic tendancies towards violence. The girls survived the fight after Kate lead the Animus onto a nearby street, where the creature was hit by a truck and killed on impact. The following day, Rachel recieved transfer papers to Poseidon Academy. After an argument with Lula, Rachel learned that she and the three other girls (Kate, Claire and Rose) are living on borrowed time as per the terms with Red Garden, the organization that rescued and reanimated them. Angry and confused, but not wanting to risk dying a second time, Rachel headed for the new school. If we both hold on together we can make each other strong// Storyline information Rachel made a new aquantiance in Rose Tyler after the two discussed cell phone issues over the network, which lead to Rachel's phone being repaired and enhanced to be able to call from anywhere in the galaxy (though she doesn't know this). She's been keeping in touch with her friends back home, which has lead to more than one argument between the group. Rachel was recently (late September, 2k8) told to drop off information about reanmation (including medical) to Fox Mulder under orders from two of the higher ups in Red Garden. Deciding she may as well get some more of it in the open, she's planning to show up post-battle and explain her situation to him. She still doesn't trust Lula or J.C. (the two people she and the 3 other girls are working under), though, and intends to let them know that once the meeting's over.
